Question: Will anyone read an architecture / cycling / global warming / peak oil / housing bubble bursting blog? Answer: Don't care, therapy is therapy. Looks like it's gonna be a long hard slog, uphill, into the gale, with rusty gears and a bad attitude.

A huge amount of American reporting and media is controlled by a very small number of corporations, and those corporations want Americans to be CONSUMERS.
As with the clip you present, foreign news paints a completely different picture of the U.S. and the world.
The fourth estate, rather than being an unofficial check and balance on government as we saw with Watergate, has become a sensationalist bid to capture public attention long enough to sell products.
Hey Mike! Thanks for the comments, which I agree with, of course. Have you seen this story yet, about the Knight Ridder reporters who got the story RIGHT five years ago because they decided their role was not to be stenographers but to ask, "is what they're telling us right?"
Good story, and I'm glad to see some recognition going their way.
That is a good article and I had not seen it before. I'm not nearly as well informed as I pretend to be but I try to soak up bits and pieces of everything as I go through my day :D.
