2007 Ride The Rockies Intro
The 2007 Ride The Rockies begins Saturday when 2,000 lucky lottery winners converge on Frisco, Colorado to pitch their tents, check into hotels, or spread out their sleeping bags in a gymnasium. Howard and BalticTiger will be riding this year again, and will be camping every night except for one (Glenwood Springs, where we stay at the beautiful Hot Springs Lodge!).
We are very happy that the ride is a closed loop, as it makes transport and parking easy, and that it's in northern Colorado, taking us through many of our favorite mountain communities.
When we get back home on June 23rd, Howard will fill out this post with his annual write-up, complete with pithy and humorous anecdotal evidence that Ride The Rockies is the most fun an uptight, middle-aged, Lance-wannabe could ever hope to have...
Update: I moved the original post to the top of this blog. You can read it here. However, I'm not deleting this particular post entirely so as not to lose the introduction or the comments. Howard cherishes all comments...

That's it. I'm gonna have to find a way to come out there and torture myself on this ride next year.
seems a little front end loaded. i guess they have to weed out the nancys early eh? the next few days look easy though. the only daunting ride is the one to leadville. so much verticality.
You two are nuts :-)
Take plenty of Motrin or at least a case of Icy/Hot.
anonymous,
Howard makes no bones about being a Nancyboy, and a bit of a weed as well. Doesn't bode well, huh?
Hey, everyone else slept in Sayre Park in tents... and you stayed at the Hot Springs Lodge ?... good for you.
That The Ride Rockies looks like a blast... till I actually think about all that riding. We enjoyed having y'all in Glenwood Springs though.
