Phoning One In
Sometimes a blogger gets busy with work or gets tired of blogging (guess which?) and just has to phone one in.
Here are a couple of photos from a canyon expedition five days ago to see the changing aspen colors in the highlands of Colorado.
Howard took both of these photos with a camera phone. Phoning it in? Get it?
Howard took these from inside a moving car (kids, don't try this at home.)
Click on the photos and make them large. The main subject in both of these photos is in focus while all the surrounding context is gray and blurry, giving the viewer a feeling of movement and even vertigo. Howard likes that. He's proud of these photos, but he can hardly take the credit.
Just dumb luck, really. Like his whole life so far.

At least I brought the Club Hypoxia yellow leader jersey back to Colorado. The #2 rider is in... Illinois? Geez, if I lived in flat flat Illinois, I could ride a hundred miles a day and never know the burn of lactic acid. The highest point in Illinois -- Charles Mound (Mound?) at 1,235 feet. The lowest? Somewhere along the Mississippi River at 279 feet. I'm sure #2 is a heckuva rider. I'm just sayin'.
Ha!!! Good Point!
I enjoy your site! ...Mrs. Howard...congradulations on the century....I've only been able to work up to a couple of metrics (around 63 miles) Went up to Estes Park for first one...whew! Am aiming for my 1st century next May...at Buena Vista Bike Fest.
Of course...Deadhead is a nut! he's done 34...I believe!
Anyhow...thanks for the grins! :)
